Latest Update: Milestone 2

We are happy to announce the completion of our second Milestone! The goal was to add a “press” action, seedling reload mechanism, and steering to TreeRover Ichi. We’d like to thank Kyle White for 3D printing a rack and pinion, an integral part of our reload mechanism.

Crowdfunded tree planting campaign scheduled for the end of Summer 2015! Please follow our progress using the widget at the bottom of this page and share our website with your friends. More updates and videos coming soon! Also, check out our Project, Team, Get Involved, and Gallery pages for more information about the project.

  1. congratulations on solving turning, loading and pressing challenges. Two ideas: 1. video close ups of various planting steps and motions might be interesting shot in slow mo? 2. shots of underside of Rover would benefit from less shadow
Are you planning a planting test on a slopped surface?

    1. Peter,

Thank you for these great suggestions! We agree with both your points and will make it happen in our next video. We are planning to do a wide variety of testing in the next few weeks once the basic technical functions of the TreeRover are completed. Planting on a slopped surface will definitely be one of the tests. Thank you for your support!
